Bassett win 6-2 away at Stratton Youth

We kicked off in this away league fixture playing up the slope, a substantial one at that! We knew that it was important to keep Stratton out whilst playing up hill and we did by getting an early goal! A very fluent passing move resulting in a tap in by Sean Miles. The second came soon after, a great individual effort by James French, he turned on the edge of the area a struck a powerful shot into the top corner! We continued to play a very controlled passing came and with our defence being well marshalled by MOTM Dominic Gordon we were very much in control. Vinny Tapster came off with ten minutes remaining, having put in a very good performance, to be replaced on the left hand side by Alec Daly. Half Time 0-2.

A couple of changes were made at the start of the second half, Sean Miles being replaced by James Lownds. This meant that Oliver Stevens moved up to right midfield with James going in at right back. Once again we passed the ball around very well. We were always first to the ball and rarely looked in trouble at the back. Further goals came through James French, Alec Daly, Oliver Stevens and an own goal. We once again changed personnel, with James French and Sam Munton being replaced by Vinny Tapster and Sean Miles. The changes and our own dominance meant that we were left exposed at the back and this led to two break away goals which the Stratton attack took very well.

In summary, a very pleasing game with some excellent passing, Full Time 2-6.
