Royal Wootton Bassett Town drew 1-1 away against Hellenic League Division One side Shortwood United in their latest pre-season friendly.
Lewis Waldon gave Bassett the lead midway through the opening period before Luke Soule snatched an equaliser for the hosts on the hour mark.
Played on a glorious, albeit extremely hot July day, the contest was a competitive affair, with both sides able to take positives as the start of the new season draws nearer.
Bassett are scheduled to continue their pre-season preparations with the first of three fixtures against higher level opposition with a visit to Thatcham Town on Tuesday evening. After facing step six Calne Town, Sam Collier's side then finish their series of friendlies with home contests against Melksham Town and Swindon Supermarine.
