2 ‒ 1 |
Oxford Road, 11th November 2014
A controversial penalty in the game's dying moments denied Wootton Bassett Town a deserved point against Ardley United, as the Oxfordshire side came back from a goal down to win 2-1.
A tenth goal of the season for Dan Bailey had given Bassett an early lead, with a strong first half performance carrying the team ahead into the break.
Ardley, runners-up last year, were always going to have their chances and duly equalised on the hour.
Battling valiantly, it looked as though Bassett would hold out for what would have been a fantastic draw. Yet a dubiously awarded penalty with minutes left condemnded the visitors to defeat.
