Highmoor Ibis may have ultimately kept up their flying start to the season, but Wootton Bassett Town made them work for their 3-1 victory.
It was not until there were 15 minutes to go that Highmoor could say they had the points in the bag as Sanchez Commack, scorer of the visitors' first, won the ball with a perfectly timed challenge, freeing up Steve Peacock, who rode three challenges and shot across Ben Mitchell into the bottom left corner.
In fact, Highmoor had to come from behind. Seven minutes in Dan Bailey scored for the fourth time in three games, superbly volleying in a Lewis Chatwin cross.
Commack equalised on the quarter hour mark, coolly lobbing Mitchell after a long ball caught out the home defence.
The visitors then had Bassett pinned deep. But Highmoor were unable to force a breakthrough until they were gifted a penalty ten minutes from the break when Bailey rashly left his feet and Devon Reid converted.
A good, composed second half showing had no reward for Bassett allowing Peacock to finally make sure of the points.
