Bassett edge tight game against Greenmeadow

Also on 24 points are Wootton Bassett Town who were involved in a tight game at Ballards Ash against Greenmeadow. Phil Tearle put the home side in front late on in the first half after Dean Wason put him clear of the Greenmeadow back four. Only a minute had gone in the second period when Steve May equalised for Greenmeadow from a corner. Bassett went back in front with a stunning unstoppable strike from Phil Tearle, Terale curling the ball past keeper Dwain Stratford. Phil Forster scored his first of the season last week but doubled his total with a turn and shot from the edge of the box to make it 3-1. With fifteen minutes remaining Greenmeadow got themselves back into the game with another header from a corner, Josh Little the scorer. With a nervous closing ten minutes looming, Michael Weaving put the result beyond doubt when he hit in following a goalmouth scramble for his first goal of the season.
