Bassett again have to work really hard for the 3 points

Wootton Bassett Town were made to work hard for the three points against visitors Walcot Wanderers. Despite Bassett having much of the first half possession they turned round at the break with just one goal to show for their endeavours, this a header from Tom Marchment from an Aaron Stevens long throw. Bassett hit the woodwork on a couple of occasions and the Walcot keeper was in fine form. Josh Dimond extended the lead shortly after the break with a rare goal following a good passing move. A deflected Sam Higginbottom shot put Bassett three up before Dean Wason curled an exquisite free kick to make it four. Josh Dimond completed the scoring with his second of the match and nearly ended the game with a hat-trick when he just failed to connect with a Sam Higginbottom cross. A good performance from Bassett against a Walcot side who are a lot better than their early results would suggest and who continued to play some good passing football despite trailing in the game.
