Bassett made to work hard for the three points

Wootton Bassett Town were made to work hard of the three points against visitors Juventus Juniors. Azzad Ali put Juventus in front when he followed up a powerful shot that Bassett keeper Richard Hanley did well to save but the ball fell to the influential Ali who finished in style. Juventus led for most of the half but Bassett got back on level terms just before the break when a move down the right between Dean Wason and Phil Tearle saw the latter lay a superb pass into Aaron Stevens who fired home. PJ Boyles in the Juventus goal had pulled off a fine save earlier in the half from Bassett′s top scorer Phil Tearle. Bassett went in front early in the second half when Phil Forster bundled the ball over the line following a melee in the Juventus six-yard box. However, Juventus came back and made the home side pay for a needless free kick conceded on the edge of the box when Azzad Ali again netted. Both sides pushed for the winner but it was the home side who bagged all three points when Aaron Stevens followed up a shot that was well saved by PJ Boyles but Stevens managed to stretch and knock the loose ball into the net for the three points.
