We opened the new season with a comfortable home win against newly promoted Wantage reserves. After a very slow start to the match in which our opponents could and should have gone into the lead but missed several chances we took the lead after a long throw from Millsy was headed into the net by Nathan Hall to give us a 1-0 lead at half time.

In the second half we settled down and played some good football against some very hostile tackling and further goals from Nathan and debutant Moses who looked very sharp when appearing as a substitute gave us a comfortable win and hopefully bodes well for the coming season.

As well as Moses making his debut in the game was 15 year old Ashley Rowe who gave a good account in goal and hopefully this will be the first clean sheet of many he will have for the club.
