Without a league game, Bassett had arranged a friendly with Marlborough Youth. Unfortuantely they cried off the day before and a hastily arranged match was set up with fellow North Wilts side, Ferndale Rodbourne. In difficult conditions the two teams produced an entertaining match.
In the end it was Bassett who came out on top thanks to a series of late second half goals. Bassett's goal scorers were Glenn Parlour with 2, Jonny AItkenhead with a cool chip over the keeper, Tom Marchment, Phil Tearle and a rare Dan Strange strike.
