Penalty save denies Bassett a share of the points

On Sunday Bassett put up a spirited showing at Stratton Juniors losing by the odd goal in three. Kevin Tate put Stratton in front on the stroke of half time, this after stand-in goalkeeper William McCurrach had pulled off a great save to deny Stratton the lead. Martin Ayres extended the lead when a cross come shot looped over McCurrach's head. Wootton Bassett got themselves back into the match with a powerful headed goal from Phillip Tearle, this moments after the same player had had a penalty spectacularly saved by the Stratton keeper.
