With five minutes to go it looked like this game would end 0-0 but a powerful shot from Steven Grey, the best player on show today broke the deadlock and Bassett hearts. Whilst Greenmeadow had played all the creative football, Bassett had fought hard to deny the best footballing side at the Under 13 age group the goal they so desperately wanted. With the dam breached Bassett then allowed the visitors to score two more to undo all the afternoons hard work. Going forward Bassett created few, if any, goal scoring opportunities and this is worrying for the management team. Some of Bassett's more creative players need to start pulling their weight in tough games if Bassett are to achieve anything this season in what is again hard league. Bassett's man of the match was goalkeeper Craig Munday, with David Lazenby and William McCurrach also playing well in Bassett's defence.
