U13's Good work last week undone

Bassett undid the good work of the previous week going down by 4 goals without reply against Westbrook. Minus key players Mike Ford, Sean Toomey and David Lazenby this was always going to be a tough match but, Jonny Aitkenhead, Will McCurrach and Craig Munday apart, Bassett did not do themselves justice. Bassett failed to deal with the home sides direct style of play and were comfortably beaten in the end. In a game of very little passing football, most of the game seemed to involve Bassett defending long throw-ins from Westbrook which were reaching the middle of Bassett's box on the narrow Braden Forest pitch. A disappointing result which leaves Bassett with six points from four games and in a mid-table position. Bassett's man of the match was Jonny Aitkenhead who gave his all despite the score line, whilst others just did not want to know today. A match best forgotten from Bassett's perspective.
