Tuffley again prove a tough nut to crack

For the second time this season Royal Wootton Bassett Town and Tuffley Rovers shared four goals as the sides drew 2-2 at the New Gerard Buxton Sports Ground.

For only the third time this season, Royal Wootton Bassett Town drew a league game - and two of those have now been against Tuffley Rovers as the Gloucestershire side again proved frustrating opponents for Paul Braithwaite's team.

Earlier this season Bassett were forced to twice come from behind against Tuffley to snatch a 2-2 draw and share of the spoils. The reverse fixture produced the same result, but this time the roles were reversed.

Twice Bassett went ahead, and twice they were quickly pegged back. Come full time, nothing could separate the teams.

An even first half saw both sides produce good chances, but appeared destined to end goalless.

That was until Steve Robertson's close range header put the hosts in front. However, the length of time that advantage lasted was better measured in seconds than minutes as Jordan Fletcher equalised in first half stoppage time.

Bassett were quickest out of the blocks following the restart, striking the post after attacking straight from the kick off.

Their persistence was eventually rewarded on the hour when Matt Cheetham headed in his first of the campaign.

But again Tuffley struck back quickly. Seven minutes after falling behind again they restored parity as Glenn Gittens rose highest to head beyond Eddie Salisbury from a Mark Ford corner.

A winner then proved elusive with the final score arguably a just one.
