A first half hat-trick from Steve Robertson fired Royal Wootton Bassett Town to a 3-1 Floodlit Cup first round victory against Fairford Town.
It didn't take long for Steve Robertson to move into double figures for the season.
Royal Wootton Bassett Town's hotshot forward netted a first half hat-trick - his second three goal haul of the season - as his team saw off the challenge of Division One West Fairford Town in the opening round of the Floodlit Cup with a convincing 3-1 win.
Robertson needed just ten minutes to grab his first. Demonstrating his predatory instincts, he poked home after a free kick from deep had been header across goal.
A downward header made it two eight minutes before the break, before he completed his haul on the stroke of half time with a precise low, long range drive.
That put Bassett in a commanding position, which was never really threatened despite Lee Smith curling in a sublime free kick moments after the restart for the Reds.
The reward for victory is a trip to Tytherington Rocks in the second round.
