Royal Wootton Bassett Town made it three cup wins in a row, defeating Bracknell Town 2-0 in the Hellenic League Challenge Cup second round thanks to late goals from Steve Robertson and Harvey Scholes.

Three straight cup games, three straight wins: Royal Wootton Bassett Town made sure they remain alive on three fronts with a deserved 2-0 victory away against Bracknell Town in the Hellenic League Challenge Cup second round.

After wins against lower league opponents in the form of Tytherington Rocks and New College in the Floodlit and Wiltshire Senior Cup competitions, their visit to Premier Division rivals Bracknell was set to be an altogether tougher task, especially so considering the recent moves the Robins, under new management, have made in the transfer market.

But Bassett rose to the challenge and, in a game of few chances, produced when it mattered most.

The opener with quarter of an hour remaining was a relatively scrappy affair, with Steve Robertson sliding in to bundle home Sam Packer's cross at the far post.

Victory was then made certain in fine fashion courtesy of Harvey Scholes. The tricky wide man cut in from the left hand side and bent a right footed curler into the back of the net via the upright for his fourth of the season.
