A good win after exhausting Holland Tour

Again it was windy with cold showers making the conditions very hard for both teams. Bassett looked strong from the off working the ball well around the team. A break by Josh W followed by a good pass allowed Sam to shoot, the ball hit's the Ferndale's keeper's foot and rolls towards the back of the net very slowly, before it crossed the line the Ferndale defender manages to clear the ball away for a throw. Bassett looked the stronger team pushing Ferndale back into their own half. Sam was in the action again playing a long ball which Fraser got onto the end off, Fraser shoots but the shot is saved. Tyler was replaced by Max. Then the break through, a good ball from Fraser is played onto the feet of Sam, Sam shoots and finds the back of the net. Bassett take the lead. Bassett's defence of Scott, Josh, Regan and Jack are working hard to keep Ferndale out. Scott plays a long ball to Max, Max works the space well and shoots but the shot is wide of the target. It's all Bassett, although Ferndale look quick on the break. Bassett are awarded a corner, Arron crosses the ball from the corner which finds Fraser's head, the ball hits the cross bar.

Ferndale chased every ball not giving Bassett much time to put their passing game together. The last ten minutes of first half was end to end football with now both teams breaking through each others defences. At half time Bassett 1 Ferndale nil.

Bassett still looked the stronger team in the second half, and very quickly found the second goal. A great ball from Arron finds Sam, Sam shoots but the ball hits the keeper and bounces out of his hands, Josh W steps up and cracks the ball into the back of the net. Bassett two Ferndale nil. Fraser and Josh were strong; Callum found himself playing on the left and at times played with width which opens up the Ferndale defence. Bassett started to lose their shape playing long balls over the top of the Ferndale defence but their goal keeper was quick off his line to clear any danger. Max and Arron linked up well on the right placing pressure onto Ferndale on many occasions; this allowed Bassett to look for the third goal. Josh W was replaced by Dale.

Callum made some space on the left, and ran at the Ferndale defenders, Callum cuts back and shoots, the shot is saved. Fraser is replaced by Jake. Jake is straight into the game as Ferndale attack through midfield, Jake is forced to clear the ball, but again this is in the air and not to a Bassett player. Scott is replaced by Tyler. Like Jake Tyler is right into the middle of the action some great footwork by Tyler works the ball into some space placing the ball onto his left foot, Tyler shoots and scores. A great goal. Bassett are now three up. Jake, Regan, Dale and Josh were strong in their defence with some very good covering by Regan and Jack. Arron was replaced by Josh W. It's all Bassett now and Ferndale did not have any answers nor could they break down the strong defence. Final score three nil to Bassett.

A good win, considering the lack of sleep the boys had due to the Tour to Holland a very good win. Well done lads.
