Bassett coast into cup final with big 8-1 win in semi final

Bassett were up for this although with Fraser twisting his knee and Scott putting plasters on his heels to prevent blisters and Tyler being sick in the car on the way to the game, it did not look like it was going to be easy.

Bassett kicked off and scored within 20 seconds, the quickest goal I have seen. A great ball from Fraser to Sam, Sam took the ball towards the keeper and slotted the ball home, Bassett are one up. Bassett were all over Coleshill, a good ball from Tyler to Josh W, Josh chips the ball over the top of the keeper, Bassett two within five minutes. It's all Bassett and Coleshill have not got out of their own half, again Bassett break this time Arron supplies a good ball for Sam, Sam takes the ball around the diving keeper and taps it into the back of the net, Bassett are now three up.

Bassett are all over Coleshill, who are doing their best to keep Bassett at Bay, but you could sense a goal fest. The passing from Arron, Fraser and Tyler was great to watch as they cut through the defence, a great ball from Tyler into the path of Josh W setup Bassett's fourth. Josh as calm as you like pushed the ball around the Coleshill keeper. I must say that the Coleshill keeper did keep out some of the Bassett attempts on goal, one specifically was struck by Arron which was going into the top corner was turned around the goal. Our back four of Regan, Jack, Scott and Josh H were as ever very solid. Fraser was replaced by Max, and Max was brought into the attack from the off. A great ball from Max to Arron, Arron to Josh W who shot but the shot was just wide.

Bassett won a corner which was taken by Arron, Arron curved the ball into the goal mouth and Max managed to get a foot onto the ball and find the back of the net. Bassett are now five up and cruising. Again Bassett are placing pressure on Coleshill Sam plays a great ball into the feet of Tyler, Tyler shoots and scores Bassett's sixth. At half time Bassett are six up.

At half time Scott is replaced by Jake. Josh H in the back was playing well defending strongly when required. Bassett earn a free kick, Tyler steps up and cracks the ball well, but just a little too high. Arron is replaced by Tom and then Arron is back on for Tyler as Tyler picked up an ankle injury. Arron is straight into the mix and plays a great pass to Josh W, Josh was not going to miss and smacks the ball into the back of the net Bassett are now eight up. Fraser is back on and Regan is off. With the players now playing in different positions the team is not that affective as we were in the first half. Coleshill break and push Bassett back for the first time; a very clean strike from Coleshill finds the back of the Bassett net. It's now eight one. Scott is back on and Sam is off. Tom was also in the action as Bassett push forward, a good pass from Fraser found Tom, Tom shoots but the ball travels just passed the upright. Josh W off and Regan back on. 'I'm struggling to keep up with the subs'.

A good first half performance takes Bassett back to the County Ground for a second year in a row, a great Cup effort from all. Also credit must go to Coleshill who did not give up at all.
