Clean sheet and win to end the year

Today we played against FC Abbey Meads on a very cold day and a slightly frozen pitch. We started the game brightly and began to dominate play with Cameron on the right and Max on the left causing Abbey Meads all sorts of problems. We continually won the ball in midfield with Eddie winning control of the midfield. Tom and Robert at the back easily collected any loose balls that came their way.

As the half wore on we continued to totally outplay Abbey Meads and only a series of fine saves from their keeper kept them in the game. Eventually we won a penalty but unfortunately Kier shot wide. The boys did not let it get to them and continued to play good passing football and right on the stroke of half time Kier managed to steer the ball home to open the scoring. A very well deserved lead.

The second half saw Charlie come on for Cameron and again we started to dominate play. The passing and movement from the players was excellent and it was only a matter of time before we scored again. Charlie cut in from the right hand side and he managed to score past the excellent Abbey Meads keeper to make it 2-0. Again the total domination of the game was apparent and a crisp passing move saw Charlie left unmarked in the box and he made no mistake.

A fourth goal came courtesy of Eddie who scored from close range. Jordan in goal only touched the ball a few times in the whole game but he ensured a clean sheet was kept with good organisation of the defence. Overall a very pleasing finish to the years football.
