Our first away game of the season had come and fortunately the weather was kind bringing us sun and warmth. In the first five minutes of the game it was fast flowing from end to end. After about ten minutes we finally scored our first goal from a goal kick this was from Tom Law which took a deflection off a Shrivenham players head on the way through to the net.

Straight after the goal we had another attack which was blocked close to the goal all our players stopped and appealed for a penalty that wasn′t given, Shrivenham counter attacked down the pitch and won a penalty of their own after Josh Rowland handled a cross which the Shrivenham attacker thumped home.

After the goal the home side looked to have stepped up a gear and started to have more possession of the ball and some good chances which were saved well from tom law and our defence was also on top.

Then we started to regain possession and took the lead for the second time with a great pass over the top from Ted Pilsworth which John Rowland chased and sent an exquisite lob over the keeper.

Wootton Bassett never looked back after that goal by scoring a third goal from Declan Wallace volley after a fantastic whipped in corner by Matt Slony.

The second half began with the game even and the ball being mostly played around the midfield with both teams having a corner each that didn′t trouble both defenses.

There were chances from both teams with Shrivenhams goalkeeper pulling off some good saves.

Then it was Tom Law the away keeper to tip a shot wide for another Srivenham corner during the second half as they played well to try and get something from the match.

But there were no goals during the second half and we held on for a 3-1 victory away from home.
