Bassett just edge tight game against an improved Badgers side

This game did not go according to plan with Badgers being a much improved side than in the first half of the season. In a tight game and with Bassett playing below their best, we were always second to the ball and this was obviously affected our game plan. It took us 34 minutes to break the deadlock with a good pass into Tom James who rounded the keeper to slot the ball home, 0-1.

The second half started with instructions to close down and control midfield, but basically we continued as in the first half and paid the penalty by conceding an equaliser a few minutes later to make it 1-1. From then on it was a continuous battle from end-to-end with Bassett creating and missing the better chances. It was 10 minutes from the end that Bassett scored their winning goal, again from Tom James after the ball was threaded through into his path and he took it early to score past the defending keeper, 1-2and a win for Bassett, which should have been more comfortable.
