Another frustrating defeat

Another close contest with Bassett on the wrong end of the result. For the first 30 mins it was a very even and hard fought game with both sides canceling out some good moves. However it was the home side that took the lead with Wroughton playing down their right flank, their striker picked up the ball on the corner of our box and with what looked like a bad cross looped over Scott Smedley's head and into the opposite side netting and Bassett going 1-0 down. We kept battling and had a couple of chances but to no avail.

During the half time team talk we tried to close the gaps that was developing in midfield and taking more of our chances. At the start of the second half we had two good through balls to Tom James who was unsuccessful in his attempts to score, firstly trying to lob the keeper and secondly hitting the side netting. We should have known it wasn't going to be our day when Tim Gleed rounded the keeper and shot wide. With 10 mins into the second half Wroughton score again making it 2-0.With Bassett heads starting to drop, substitutions were inevitable. Tom James pulls one back for us after 60 mins of the game gone with another good through ball, hitting it hard and low to the keepers left, now it's 2-1. Within minutes Wroughton score again and then through total frustration Zhenia Fogle upends the attacking striker resulting in a penalty.
