Harsh result for Bassett U15's

If there was a game when the score should read the other way, this was it. With more possession and more chances to score going our way it should have been a well earned victory, not defeat. In the end the game is all about putting that little spherical object in the back of the big net, which is something we are failing to do and that doesn't only apply to this game. The game itself was a hard fought battle with us having the better possession and scoring opportunities particularly in the first half, with the only goal of the half being scored against the run of play and a bad defensive error in which we failed to clear the ball from a corner.

In the second half, the lads carried on as they finished the first and to be honest we were all expecting a goal or two but that was just wishful thinking especially when you have two or three one on one's with the goal keeper and fail to find the net. So we were left with the feeling that this was not going to be our day. Malmesbury's second goal came from a free kick bouncing around the box in which we did not clear and therefore was lobbed over Scott Smedley's head, much to the disappointment of the travelling fans. Again the good news is that the lads kept battling and with spirit like that it must be only time before we get our just rewards (any advice towards stopping our goal drought would be much appreciated).
