Big win for Bassett U15's

In a thoroughly entertaining game, played in slippery conditions Wootton Bassett opened their scoring within the first two minutes, followed by another two goals in the first half with good open team play, splitting the Badgers defense, enabling Bassett to settle into a comfortable lead. The only drawback was with a defensive error from a free kick from just inside their own half, which allowed our opponents through and score their only goal of the game in the 33rd min.

Second half was all Bassett, keeping constant pressure in and around their goal area, which enabled a further 5 goals to be scored, with our goalkeeper (Scott Smedley) being another spectator (most of the time) with all the other parents and players alike.

It was great to see such a large crowd come to support the lads and they seemed to rise to it. Great performance and well done to all (players and supporters). Bassett goal scorers: Tim Gleed 2, 55 mins Tom James 10, 60, 70 mins Jamie Riddett 30 mins Will Tearle 65 mins Nick Harrison 75 mins. (And we could have doubled our score had we taken most of our chances.) All in all a good game, played in the right spirit.
