Bassett secured their second win of the season with an excellent all round team performance against a spirited Shaw side. Despite having most of the play Shaw did not allow Bassett to open their account until mid-way through the half. Matthew Hobbs in the Shaw goal had an excellent match denying the Bassett strikers on a number of occasions. In the end a through ball from Phil Tearle put Sean Toomey clear of the defence and he coolly finished the move off to put Bassett in front. The second half continued with Bassett pressing for more goals but, once again, Hobbs in the Shaw goal refused to be beaten. Phillip Tearle extended Bassett's lead and this second goal then opened the flood gates as Bassett scored further goals through Dean Wason, Johnny Aitkenhead and Tom Marchment. The last goal was a scorching shot from Bassett's left back, which flew into the back of the net.
