Goals either side of half time saw Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development fall to a 2-0 home defeat against Wiltshire League Premier Division title chasers Trowbridge Town.

Two headed goals, one in each half from Liam Milburn and James Rustell, secured the victory for Trowbridge, with the result helping give them the advantage over Devizes Town in the title race.

Milburn had given them a half time lead, heading in from a cross from Connor McKay, with the ball going in off the underside of the crossbar.

While Trowbridge dominated possession, it was not all one-way traffic and they had goalkeeper Kierran Ramsey to thank for keeping their lead intact midway through the second half when he saved spectacularly from a half-volley from Zach Pettifer.

Trowbridge made sure of the points 15 minutes from time though when Rustell got on the end of a Charlie Barber cross to head in at the far post from just outside the six-yard box.
