Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development suffered a heavy defeat away against bottom side Melksham Town Reserves.

Melksham are having a torrid season by their normal high standards and prior to their encounter with Bassett had won just one game all season.

They also went into the game having twice lost 4-2 to Bassett this season, once in the league and then again in the Fountain Trophies Senior Cup just a fortnight ago.

It was a different story this time though as a storming first half performance saw Melksham lead 3-0 at the break.

Tom Dowell had given them a 1-0 lead before two goals from Jake Dodge put them in the driving seat.

Whilst Bassett improved after the break, the damage had been done in that first half as Melksham boss Justin Flowers picked up his first league win since taking over from Craig Kent and doubling his side's league wins in the process.
