Great battling from the Bullets

Away to Blunsdon Colts this week, a potentially tough game, we only beat them 5-3 last time out.

The game started well with Bassett getting straight to work, some good moves down the lines and after creating chance after chance the breakthrough came 5 mins in. A superb pass from Jack into the box for Scott to slip the ball pass the Blunsdon keeper just crossing the line, 1-0 to the bullets.

We started to dominate the game and Blunsdon found it very hard to get the ball in midfield. It wasn′t long before the boys got their second, we were playing well but never really touching top gear, the time seemed to fly by and the half ended 2-0 to Bassett.

The second half started very slowly, with the boys taking their foot of the pedal. After a considerable amount of pressure from Blunsdon they managed to score their first goal. This was definitely against the run of the play and I could see another situation where the lad′s heads were dropping.

The support was superb, with everyone trying to motivate the boys Blunsdon were piling on more & more pressure we couldn′t clear our lines and BANG 2-2!!

The boys were losing the plot, we needed that extra gear and FAST, at the restart Jack & Thomas in midfield seemed to have another lease of life and started to take control again, everyone seemed to play a lot better. We where on the break again with Scott playing a great one-two with Jack on the edge of the Blunsdon Box and BANG!! A goal from Scott making it 3-2 to the Bullets, this was exactly what we needed to lift everyone, we were back in the groove winning every ball in the midfield and in defence, Blunsdon never had a chance. Another 2 goals later in the match saw another great victory to the Bassett Bullets, 5-2 in the end, could have been a much closer game but the boys battled hard NOT letting their heads drop when the going got tough, great game to watch , well done lads!!

Once again some great support with not only parents watching but brothers, sisters , grandparents and friends all turning out, this makes a considerable difference to the lads performances, Thank –you and please keep it up!!
