Impressive Blunsdon push Bassett all the way but Bassett win, just

A WAKE UP CALL FOR THE BULLETS!!

We welcomed Blunsdon Colts to Rylands Way this week, after beating them convincingly twice before we thought it would be a stroll in the park, HOW WRONG WE WERE!

The first half was the worst the Bullets have ever played, NO tackling, NO passing, not clearing our lines and most importantly NOT listening, this meant we were under pressure from the start. Blunsdon out played us all over the park, stringing pass after pass together, they deserved to score first and the Bassett boys were shell shocked as this has never happened before. Then Bassett started to wake up and play a little better, eventually we got the second goal, a good pass from Jack B. through to Scott who finished it off. We started riding our luck again, which saw Blunsdon score their second just before half time making it 2-1 to Blunsdon at the halfway interval.

After a few stern words at half time the Bassett Boys started playing better but just couldn′t seem to score, after many chances on goal. Half way through the second half Scott managed to score his second which made it all square at 2 each, Blunsdon were attack, attack, attack, we managed to hold them for a while, but still not playing the way we can. With roughly 5 mins left on the clock Jack B. made a great pass again to Scott up front who managed to score a wonderful goal putting the Bullets into the lead for the first time in the match, SUPERB!

Then all the boys seemed to go asleep AGAIN, Blunsdon took advantage of this with a good passing move which ended with their Captain scoring a superb goal from 15 yards out. Making the score 3-3.

The Bullets were under pressure once again with the game opening up at both ends and both teams going for the winner, there was 2-3 mins left and everyone was tired including the spectators when Jack B. picked up the ball from midfield went pass the defender and with a cracking shot on goal hit the back of the net BRILLIANT!! Bassett were leading again, 4-3.

1 minute or so left, the captain once again had 15 yard shot on goal the keeper diving to his right but was never going to get there, Jack had his second, a great goal and result which ended an exciting, FRUSTRATING game against a strong and much improved Blunsdon team.

We must start listening boys and working hard from the START and not just the second half, still unbeaten BUT ONLY JUST!! Final score: WBTFC 5-3 BLUNSDON COLTS.

Thank you to Steve Twine for refereeing.
