Today's game was going to be tough, the kids knew it and the Adults knew it and it certainly lived up to the billing it deserved as well. The game was scrappy at times but Bassett overall deserved to edge it .The game started off Brightly with both teams attacking and the away team had the first shot which went over the bar but with their good passing it was well deserved, straight away Bassett returned the favour with good passing up the left wing with the ball being switched to the right with Josh letting rip but the keeper saved well. We had a full squad today with 4 subs as we needed it with injury's going on throughout the game ,the subs came and went and fresh pair of legs were needed as the game went from end to end. The team of the Embling twins, White, Hazzard, Shama, Brain ( MOTM), Buckle, ODonnell, Little, Amos and Dodds all played their part ,but these 3 players, Jack. Nick and Josh ran and ran to contain the opposing players, with the defence during a fantastic job with grant asked to play in various positions done very well. After 10 mins Bassett scored and what a goal (relief) that was. Jack took the corner and straight from his kick it went through everybody and into the top far corner of the goal, 1 - 0 to Bassett.

To be fair Soccer Skills played their part and caused us no end of problems in the second half but our persistent and dogged defending held out and another 20 mins into the 2nd half Tom was put clear from a goal kick by Nick, which went over everybody and Tom was clear to score our 2nd goal and gives us a much needed 3 points. Bassett in their new long awaited kit had a couple of goal mouth scrambles but could not finish it off also Soccer skills had their chances as well but in the end Bassett were too strong and fought for each other that's what won the game.
