Big win for Bassett over last years cup final opponents

First meeting of the two clubs since the Cup Final at the County ground, saw Bassett once again come out on top of this fixture with a superb 10 -1 victory. Right from the start Bassett commanded play and saw a score line of 1-0 within the first minute scored by Nick Buckle who had a good game in different positions and went on to score another one later on in the first half. Jack as usual played well and scored a beauty of a goal driven in from 20 yards out and screamed into the bottom corner of the goal. What can I say about Tom O'Donnell in this game, since arriving from Marlborough he has started to settle in with his new squad getting better as each game progresses and for his efforts today he scored 5. With the subs coming and going throughout the game adding to the free flowing of this game Bassett got better and better.Going back to early on Bassett was leading 2-0 and Fraser made 2 point blank saves in a goal mouth scramble which ended with the only goal for Ashton Keynes. Ryan Amos played up front at times with Tom and then switched to the wing where he had a good game with his passing and crossing of the ball he was unlucky not to have been on the score sheet today, for his work.

I could keep on going with the names who played well but the fact is everybody played to their strengths today which you can see in the result,Grant White came on and played in different positions as well and played another solid game, along with Seb, Harry (M O T M) and the the Embling twins of Cole and Ellis had another solid game, with a rare goal coming from Ellis which was well deserved. A good performance all round by the team.

One more point I would like to say the team of Ashton Keynes kept going throughout the game and their keeper played very well despite the score line, and well done to Mark Wallis the ref who had a good game.
