Feisty affair ends in a draw

We made the trip to Abingdon hopeful of three points but in a performance completely different to last week we only managed one because we lowered our game to that of our opponents and only looked like a mere shadow of the side we are for long periods of the match.

The first half saw Abingdon take the lead when a clearance from goalkeeper Ashley Rowe hit the oncoming centre forward and allowed him to then roll the ball into a empty net

After the half time cuppa we came out a different side and took the game to our opponents and enjoyed long periods of possession but never looked like scoring until the introduction of debutant Ashley Bradshaw on the left gave us the width we were looking for and following a good move and a smart finish from Harkit Sandhu who after sidestepping two defenders smashed the ball into the top corner we levelled the match with twenty minutes remaining.

All the rest of the match saw was a brawl involving several players from both sides which earned Leigh Jones a yellow card and the Abingdon goal scorer a red card and we were lucky not to concede a last minute goal when a foul was given when the ball was in our goal.
