Shrewton United were looking to return to winning ways after consecutive defeats at the hands of the top two sides when they took on Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development who themselves were looking to make it three wins on the bounce. The vast expanse of the Gerard Buxton Ground has traditionally not been a happy hunting ground for Shrewton, and they played the first half playing against the wind. Despite the home side having the advantage provided by the wind they failed to register a shot on the Shrewton goal and it was actually the visitors who created a couple of chances, Ronan Clancy shooting narrowly wide and Dominic Jackson going on a long run before eventually being tackled by the Bassett defence. With the wind behind them in the second half Shrewton took full advantage. Charlie Utterson went close to breaking the deadlock when he was put through one-on-one against the Bassett keeper Adam House but his subtle dink over the keeper also went just over the bar. House then pulled off a great save to prevent his side going behind after good link up play between Utterson and Dan Burton had set up Burton for the shot which House saved with his foot. A couple of substitutions by were made by Shrewton and they quickly paid off for the visitors. Moments after coming on Ben Jenks scored his fourth of the season firing in off the post. Shrewton continued to press for a second and were duly rewarded when Utterson set up the other substitute Craig Appleby who beat keeper House with a powerful near post shot. In the dying moments Utterson also thought he had got on the score sheet as well but his which went into the net after his initial shot had been blocked didn't count as the referee had blown for full-time leaving the final score at 2-0 to Shrewton.
