Ladies march on in County Cup

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Ladies record a mammoth 21-0 victory in their Wiltshire County Cup first round clash away against The Market Lavington and Easterton United.

Becky Gammon's side scored early and often against their overmatched County League opponents, taking the lead after just twenty seconds as a good passing set up Holly Baker

Bassett were ahead 15-0 come half time as their hosts were overwhelmed.

Gracie Bridger finished from outside the box, before she set up Jess Dent. Laura Gammon grabbed the first of her five goals in the ninth minute, while fellow hat-trick heroes Beth Westlake and Laura Jefferies were next to get in on the act as they both scored from range.

Gammon scored four of the next five goals, with Westlake breaking up that run. A second strike for Dent, an own goal and Westlake's third completed the first half goalfest.

As could be expected, Bassett took their foot of the gas in the second period, though still were able to plunder another six goals.

Westlake was first to pounce, scoring from a Bridger cross before Sam Wood struck a belter from the edge of the area

Hannah Gulliver's brilliant pass then set up Emma Sykes, while the rout was completed by Bridger finding the top corner, Angel Moores scoring from the spot and Jefferies completing her hat trick.
