The afternoon was incredibly sunny and warm and made for a good afternoon's game. Both teams were fielding seven players and no substitutes, as agreed upon by both Managers. In the first half Shannon Furey was in goal for Wootton Bassett. In the first minute Wootton Bassett would have been one player down, if Ellie Kaye had not put aside her ankle trouble and continued playing. The game flowed evenly at the beginning and from a corner in the 14th minute Lavington managed to be the first to score. Bassett were improving on their passing skills and got the ball up to Lavington's end. However, the goals were elusive, despite some novel approach shots from Felicity Talbot. Eventually, Ellie Kaye managed to get past Lavington's defence and scored in the 30th minute.

Half time score: Wootton Bassett 1 Lavington Juniors 1

In the second half Wootton Bassett's mid-field were more lively and as their passing improved even more, so they held their formation shape better. Katie Rea went into goal and that released Shannon Furey, who effectively was a fresh pair of legs, on to the field for Wootton Bassett. Three minutes into the second half, Shannon Furey managed to score for Bassett . The Wootton Bassett mid-field appeared to be working together and Rach Buchanan tried several shots. However, it was Ellie Kaye who scored her second goal of the match after 11 minutes. That left Amy Mathews, who had worked tirelessly in both halves of the game, to go on to score Wootton Bassett's final goal in the 21st minute of that half. Lavington Juniors had some good mid-field players who kept Hannah Townsend, in defence, busy, and Katie Rea had to save some good goal attempts. On the whole the game was lively and everyone played well. Wootton Bassett's defence has always been good but their mid-field is gaining strength and strategy.
