The Lavington team were very welcoming, laying on much needed refreshments for an early Sunday morning start. Bassett enjoyed lots of possession and most of the game played inside the Lavington half. The starting line up of Kate in goal, Felicity and Aimee at the back, Chloe W, Hannah and Shannon in midfield and Jaye up front quickly established the upper hand with 5 early corners and two excellent opportunities. Felicity scored the first goal after 7 minutes with an excellent long shot after some great midfield play by both Chloe W and Hannah. After 17 minutes substitutes Ellie, Amy M and Chloe E came on and created a number of excellent opportunities for the team, Just before half time Rachael came on to replace Shannon. Lavington Juniors fought hard with some good defending and a couple of promising runs but were not able to convert these into an equaliser.

Kate playing in goal for only her second match did not have a great deal to do but made some good saves. In the second half Bassett created some great chances with very good passing especially from Amy M and Chloe W from the midfield into the box but the team could not score with a number of shots being put wide. Hannah however brought the score to 2-0 with a great goal 5 minutes into the second half. Overall Bassett had 19 corners in the game and 2 great free kick opportunities but the score remained at 2 - 0 until the final whistle. A very good game played in a great spirit and worth the early alarm call!
