Swindon Town Reds avenge earlier defeat

WBTFC start well with some early attacks and a number of corners, but with these no chances were brought early on.

Swindon start to get in the game forcing attacks, but Gabby and Felicity defend well (as usual) with some strong defensive tackles and clearances. Swindon then break down the right hand side and pass cross field to find their number 14 free on the left, who then curls in a good effort to score the opening GOAL for Swindon.

Wootton Bassett counter attack well before the half time whistle forcing another corner which Julia clears wide leaving Swindon to hold on to there lead to end the first half ahead.

Half-time 1-0

Wootton Bassett make changes in the second half with Aimee & Freya coming on to join Rebecca in midfield.

The half starts evenly with both sides attacking and Rebecca shooting just wide for WBTFC. Gabby continues defending well as Felicity pushes more up into midfield.

The game seems evenly poised, but Swindon then break and force a second GOAL after a scramble and the loose ball falling to the striker in front of the goal.

Wootton Bassett revert to their starting line up and start to dominate the game again. After a good spell eventually Amy passes to Julia who bears down on the goal and scores a GOAL from close range.

The last few minutes are frantic with both sides forcing attacks, Swindon Town working harder than ever with WBTFC looking to equalise.

A close well contested game ends with a Swindon victory.

Player of the Match – Gabby. She worked hard from start to finish assisting Felicity in defence and working with the midfield when she could!
