Win for Bassett against Trowbridge Wanderers

The game started and finished with lots of action from both sides, the team had to work that little bit harder at times to break out and show the opposition we meant business on this wet, cold, foggy Saturday morning. We added pressure to them and with good reading of the game and the forceful as ever Julia (striker) in action, we were able to place the 1st goal in the back of the net with 1-0 at half time.

Trowbridge started the 2nd half stronger with their midfield only allowing us to break out on fewer occasions, the next goal was led from a corner which struck the goalkeeper which finished up in the corner of the net giving us our 2nd goal.

Without doubt Trowbridge never gave up applying the pressure, they kept their heads up and fought to the bitter end and then without warning their striker placed a fantastic 15 yard strike.

With the score now at 2-1 and with a few minutes to spare, the girls are now tiring, but Julia was able to net another goal, with the final whistle blowing the girls were overjoyed to walk away with a 3-1 victory – and very much deserved it was as well!
