First win of the season for Under 10 Girls

After last weeks defeat to Trowbridge Town Youth, the girls were hungry for the 1st win of the season, the team gave everything into this game and it showed 100% effort was applied by all who played. The team played as a team which was enjoyable to see as a coach with good defensive and attacking play for most of the game, the final score of 3-1 was well deserved!

We gained a lot of the procession from the start with good pressure from Evie and Julia, this in turn lead to our 1st goal from Julia. No sooner was this added to the score card, Badgers hit back and placed the equaliser from short range.

Bassett struggle to maintain procession now, some good defending by Felicity and an excellent save by Ellie tipping over a shot. The1st half finished at 1-1.

The team make a few changes for the second half with Evie going in goal and Ellie moving into the defensive role.

Swindon Blues start the 2nd half in full force forcing an early corner for us, which lead to Julia scoring a spectacular 2nd goal for the team.

The team continue to attack and following a run from Julia, Sophie forces home a 3rd goal. Amy, Aimee & Freya played some good passing for the closing 10 minutes with Rebecca pushed up into attack when required.

A good well contested game ends with a Wootton Bassett victory.

Man of the match – Julia Cook for her outstanding commitment.
