Two good halves for Bassett U8's

Bassett, playing away, had their return game to Blunsdon. The first half went really well with Bassett having the majority of the play with some excellent passing and crossing of the ball. The midfield of Jake Matthews scoring 4 goals, Ben Mattick(2) and Tyler Amos(4) played well with a good understanding, knowing where each other were to pick up the ball.

Defenders Scott Walduck, Oliver Rigby and Nathan Tearle also had a good game especially as we played three at the back for the first time in this game, they were a little unsure at times to who should tackle the opposing player but slowly found their positions.

The first half finished 5-0 to Bassett with all the goals coming from excellent build up play from the back through to midfield and great crossing. Sometimes the crosses being too long as the pitch was slightly shorter than the ones we are used to.

Second half Josh Hulbert was brought on in defence, he also had a good game at left back. Second half very similar to the first with the tackling from defence being more decisive and committed. The end result at full time was 10-0 to Bassett with Joe Paish putting his usual good performance in goal, doing what he needed to do when called upon. Well Done all, good performance!
