Win in first home game of the season

We had our first home game of the season at Rylands Way. Bassett came away with a hard fought but well deserved 5 - 0 victory against Blunsdon Cubs. Credit to Blunsdon, they never gave up. Throughout the game they made some good moves and kept our defenders Sam and Oliver on their toes.

Joe, our keeper worked well covering his area. He managed some good saves within the area, but also some encouraging saves with his feet outside the area.

Midfielders, Tyler, Jake, Nathan and Scott had the passes flowing well. Ben had a cracking game up front in the first half, then dropped back into defence and achieved the same quality of play in the second half.

There was some good vision of the game by switching the play from the right over to the left side. Today, the same as last week, it was encouraging to hear them calling for the ball by using each others names, looking for space and using some good solid tackling.
