Tearle bags a brace

A late change of venue, Bassett played at home instead of away. Shaw gave us our hardest game of the season so far. Shaw went ahead with a good header from a corner, then on to score their second goal with good moves and bad defence from our side. With credit to Bassett they did not give up. With shear determination Sam Lowkis scored for Bassett towards the end of the first half. Then Bassett were awarded a free kick outside the area which Tyler took and Sam finished by knocking it in on the far post. Half time 2 - 2.

At half time some changes were made, Bassett woke up and seemed to dominate the second half. Our defence Ben Mattick and Oliver Rigby came back to life with some confident tackling and man marking. The midfielders Tyler Amos, Jake Matthews, and Scott Walduck were starting to put some good passing in with Tyler striking the ball well outside the area resulting in a quality goal. 3 - 2 to Bassett. Josh Hulbert and Nathan Tearle came on for the second half resulting in two more goals scored by Nathan with some good communication between them both. 5 - 2 to Bassett. Shaw put the pressure on in the last five minutes, Joe Paish as through the whole game worked hard and kept the ball out! His confidence is growing every week between the sticks.
