Great performance from Bassett against the league leaders

The Town team preserved their unbeaten record on Saturday, when Chippenham Congregationals, who were at the head of the Calne and District League table, paid their first visit. Within 10 minutes Titcombe gave the Town the lead, after good work by Roles, the ex-Salisbury Corinthian player. Play continued in the home team's favour, and Roles netted twice before the interval.

In the second half the visitors showed a marked improvement and had rather more of the play than the Town, but owing to the home defence putting up a great fight they could gain no material advantage. Titcombe, after a good effort on the part of Roles, scored a further goal, thus giving his side the victory by four clear goals.
