This was a really great game of football to watch and I'm sure it was to play in also. Despite Lydiard being near to the top of the table, Bassett took the game to Lydiard in the first half and although didn't create too many chances, they enjoyed some good periods of possession. However, midway through and towards the end of the first half, Bassett conceded a couple of goals which made the half time score 2 - 0 to Lydiard.

Bassett continued to press in second half but unfortunately all their efforts were in vain as Lydiard held out to secure a hard earned win.

By a quirk of fate, the fixture computer (!) has arranged that both teams meet again next week. Hopefully Bassett will have more to show for their efforts then
