Big win for Bassett over Ashton Keynes

A game which Bassett dominated from the Kick-off although it took 18 minutes to break the deadlock. Scott Millward scored from within the 6 yard box following a corner. Karl Roberts is developing a great habit of cutting in from the left hand side and scoring with a low right foot drive into the far corner – and he scored our second (and his third goal of the season like this) after 27minutes. This was quickly followed by a great goal from Gavin Brown on 29 minutes. Ryan Campbell scored on the stroke of halftime with a goal straight from our Thursday night training session when good one-two play from a corner resulted in a cross being headed in.

Within 5 minutes of the commencement of the second half, Gavin Brown scored his second goal of the game which was quickly followed by Karl Roberts scoring his second when he went around the goalkeeper when every defender had stopped - expecting an offside decision – which he wasn't. Our final goal was scored by Ryan Dowse with another one against one with the goalkeeper.

A lot of hard work today from all of the team – we conceded our first corner 5 minutes from time and rookie goalkeeper Toby Edgington had little to do due to some good defensive play. We played our best football in the first half but this has something to do with players trying to get forward to score more goals in the second half.
