A really good performance from the team today. Despite dominating the first half, and creating enough chances to have won the game, we only took a 1 – 0 lead at the interval through a Gavin Brown free kick a couple of minutes before half time.

However, some of passages of play were really good to watch with nice first time passing from the defence through midfield and up to the attack.

It was always going to be a different game in the second half as Shaw had the advantage of the slope and wind. However, Bassett dug in deep and defended solidly for long periods of time before breaking out and scoring a great individual goal through Karl Roberts on 54 minutes.

Karl secured the points with another goal on 62 minutes.

Win or lose today, the team would be able to look back at some of the quality of football they played rather than just the result, because it was a joy to watch.
