A match dominated by the size of the pitch! A small pitch frustrated the passing game which we are used to at Ballards Ash and meant that we spent a lot of time looking up for the ball descending from the heavens as the Marlborough goalkeeper was able to almost reach our penalty area with a drop kick.

We fell behind to a defensive lapse in the first half but dominated long periods of the game searching for an equaliser. This eventually came from Jack Gruar, who scored on the far post following a good cross from the goal line by Gavin Brown.

However, another aerial launch from the Marlborough goalie wasn't headed clear allowing the Marlborough attacker in to score the winner. Despite pressing and creating chances, we were unable to convert any of the chances.

A good performance though and it was good to know that the team were frustrated at not being able to play our normal passing game.
