Bassett lose heavily again but don't give up

Bassett started this match at an unprecedented pace, for 10 minutes they played some outstanding 'pass move' football that left Ferndale at times unable to put a foot on the ball. The home team created 3 or 4 clear chances but failed to convert them and Ferndale, the leagues only undefeated team, started to regain some confidence and created chances for themselves. A strong forward line ensured that chances were taken and Bassett found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-0 score line.

To their credit Bassett never gave up and kept playing extremely attractive football but with no subs they were always going to tire and Ferndale capitalised on the situation and put away 5 more goals. A well deserved goal came from the penalty spot. Gavin Brown left the keeper with no chance after Jake Sumpter was fouled in the box. Bassett put in a remarkably gutsy effort that deserved more goals, Chris Sims was awarded man of the match for a solid performance in the centre of defence.
