Second half collapse sees Bassett fall to defeat

A disappointing performance in a game they had high hopes of winning left Bassett feeling deflated and reflecting on a few missed chances. The first half started brightly enough but found the home team struggling to play the type of controlled football that has become Bassett's trademark of late. Despite failing to really settle, some good chances were made and Aiden Cressey was unlucky to see a goal ruled offside. Halftime saw a 0-0 score line but crucially a few injuries as well.

The second half started with a reshuffled team and Croft capitalised on a slow start by Bassett by scoring 3 quick goals in a 7 minute period. More injuries meant that many boys were playing out of position. Bassett rallied and periods of attacking pressure deserved at least a goal but despite some close calls it was not to be.
