An excellent performance meant Bassett recorded their first win of the season. In some atrocious weather the lads played some great passing football that proved too much for a hard working Old Town team. Ryan Campbell opened the scoring after 8 minutes followed by a hat-trick by Aiden Cressey and a first Bassett goal for Jack Gruer all in a 15 minute period.

The second half saw another goal from Aiden as well as goal for Ryan Dowse and Chris Sims. At times Bassett lost a bit of their shape partly due to the weather and partly because of the desire to score more goals. This allowed Old Town to put Bassett under pressure but due to some resilient defending and confident goal keeping Old Town were denied a goal.
