Bassett are finding life in the top division tough, never more so than against a very strong and accomplished Croft 'A' team. For the first 10 minutes Bassett were the stronger side playing some very neat, passing football. Croft scored against the run of play and never looked back; their intelligent passing football meant that Bassett were left chasing the game, something that proved too much in the heat.

It is fair to say that the score did not reflect the game fully and a good second half performance deserved a least a goal but at times it seemed the football gods were against us. It is obvious the Bassett boys are in for some difficult games but look forward to the challenge.
